However, the cold smoke gases that develop early on in a fire are also poisonous, which is why a so-called cold smoke barrier is also installed in the ventilation ducts in addition to the FLI fire protection element. DE 20 2004 003 276 U1 describes a cold smoke barrier which is connected to a fire protection valve via a heat-conductive holding frame. In this construction, the fire protection valve forms an element with the cold smoke barrier, the complexity of which becomes clear through the many exemplary embodiments in the manufacturing process. The innovation is therefore based on the task of further developing the combination of an FLI fire protection closure with a cold smoke barrier in such a way that a simple construction of the FLI fire protection element with a very low installation height is possible, which results in significant space savings with the same fire protection performance. The invention is characterized by the features of claim 1 in order to solve the task at hand. With the invention, the spread of cold fire smoke, flames and fire gases is prevented in the event of a fire. The simple construction and the resulting low installation height of the FLI fire barrier combine economical production with significant space savings in the ventilation duct. The protective function in the event of fire is independent of the direction in which it is inserted into the ventilation duct, so a safety-relevant source of error during installation is excluded.
